Stoke-on-Trent Construction Professional Recognised In Safety Awards
A construction site manager from J & S Seddon has taken a top award for his contribution to building site safety.
Rodney Leake has been named Midland and North Site Manager of the Year, organised by the national independent safety consultants, Building Safety Group (BSG).
BSG presents the award annually to a site manager who - in the opinion of its safety advisors - has maintained the highest standards of health and safety.
Rodney, aged 61, who works for the national construction and maintenance company, received the award for his careful management of building sites throughout the year.
This accolade – presented to Rodney at J & S Seddon’s head office in Duke Street, Fenton - represents the second year of success for J & S Seddon in the BSG safety recognition programme.
Last year Rodney was highly commended in the same award, along with colleague Keith Harris. Martin Hall, who also works for the company took the winner’s title.
Andrew Owst, director of operations at BSG, which operates across England and Wales, said: “This is a tremendous achievement and to achieve success in two consecutive years is a real testimony to Rodney’s hard work to make the construction industry safer.
“He has displayed a really proactive commitment to health and safety.
“J & S Seddon’s performance overall in this award over the years also reflects their commitment to high standards of health and safety on site.”
Rodney said: “I feel honoured to have been recognised in this way. We work hard to achieve high standards of health and safety and we are always striving to make further improvements.”
