Seddon Offers Football On Home Turf

Residents at North Staffordshire’s Guardian Care Centre, based in Trentham, can take in championship football on their doorstep, after a main sponsor of Stoke City FC stepped in with free tickets for the season.

Seddon, sponsors of the east stand at Stoke City Football Club – now known as the Seddon Stand - has donated six tickets for residents and their carers to watch each home game at the Britannia Stadium.

Players Richard Creswell and Jon Parkin of Stoke City FC joined members of staff from Seddon to present the tickets at the care home, based in Longton Road.

The move is part of a package of measures drawn up by Seddon to support the community under their sponsorship deal with Stoke City, launched this season.

Donna Hall of Seddon, which has its painting, maintenance and construction headquarters in Fenton, said: “When we signed the deal in July we wanted to be much more than a corporate sponsor and - as part of the arrangement - we negotiated a number of tickets for community use, as well as player and mascot appearances to take place across the region.

“We have a genuine commitment to our home town of Stoke-on-Trent and are delighted residents at The Guardian Care Centre will be able to enjoy seeing the Potters in action.”

Margaret Sexton, care director at The Guardian Care Centre, said: “It’s great that residents can go over to see Stoke City in action this season and it is a very generous offer from Seddon.”
