Seddon On The Move In Birmingham
An award-winning construction company has underlined its commitment to the regeneration of the region through a move to new premises in Birmingham.
J & S Seddon (Building) Ltd is helping bring new life back into the Newtown area where the company, which employs a workforce of 60 in Birmingham, has taken over vacant premises in Summer Lane.
It has moved from its previous site in Walsall Road, Perry Barr.
As part of the move, the company has been able to bring its dedicated maintenance company SMS (Seddon Maintenance Services) under the same roof.
Peter Hordley, divisional director of J & S Seddon (Building) in Birmingham, said: “The move is part of our continual growth and development and we hope that our new, larger premises will help us to create new opportunities in what has been an area of the city on the pathway to regeneration.
“We like to invest in the communities that we serve and our move to Newtown demonstrates this.
“Moving to bigger premises has also enabled us to bring our building and maintenance sectors all together under one roof which makes for a more efficient operation.”
J & S Seddon (Building) has had a base in Birmingham for 20 years and has a growing reputation for its mixed portfolio of work, including large scale construction projects and as a maintenance provider to registered social landlords in the region.
Earlier this year the company was named one of the country’s foremost training providers after securing a leading national industry award, the Training Achievement category of the Quality in Construction Awards organised by Construction News and backed by the DTI and Constructing Excellence.
Judges singled out the company for the accolade on the basis of its “all embracing approach” which not only serves its own commercial needs but also benefits the wider community.
